White Chocolate Pretzels
For Saint Patrick's Day this year, I decided to make this yummy treat The best part about it - its SOOOOO easy!!!!!!!!!
What you'll need:
1 bag of pretzels
2 bags white chocolate chips
2 Tbs shortening
Sprinkles or colored sugar (optional)
1.) Microwave white chocolate chips and shortening in a glass bowl for 30 seconds. Stir. Microwave 20 seconds more. Stir again. Continue microwaving in 10 second intervals and stirring until completely melted. Let stand for 1 minute to cool slightly.
2.) Dip pretzels in white chocolate and lay on wax paper to harden. (Sprinkle with sprinkles or colored sugar before they harden.)
Note: These harden QUICKLY. Don't dip more than 10 pretzels at a time if you want to sprinkle them with sprinkles. I used two baking sheets covered with wax paper. By the time I finished dipping and laying the pretzels on the second sheet, the ones on the first sheet had hardened. I took those off, put them in a container, folded the wax paper into a funnel and poured the leftover sprinkles back into the sprinkles container so that they wouldn't go to waste. Then I started all over again.
Note 2: These are a great crowd please for any holiday.
For Christmas: Sprinkle hald the pretzels with red sugar and half with green sugar
For Valentine's Day: Sprinkle with red, or pink, or both
For Easter: Sprinkle with pastel colors
For Cinco de Mayo: Sprinkle with red, green and white sugar
For Fourth of July: sprinkle half with red and half with blue sugar
For Halloween: Sprinkle with orange sugar, or half with orange and half with black
For Thanksgiving: Sprinkle with Fall colors, such as orange, red, yellow, and brown
For Game Day: Sprinkle with your favorite team's colors
